1962 – Foundation Weerter Transport Onderneming
Wetron is founded by Jan Maas.
1973 – Build of first warehouse for storage and transshipment
The first warehouse of 10.000m3 is developed in Weert.
1995 – Transfer of ownership
Son Paul Maas takes over the company from Jan Maas.
1995 – Start of intermodal transport from and to Italy
The first units depart by train from the terminal in Born, to and from Italy.
2001 – Logistics centre Weert operational
A new modern facility is added to the warehousing department to further optimize the logistics processes.
2011 - Commissioning of our own railway connection
A daily train departs from and to Venlo and Busto with Wetron units only.
2013- Expansion warehousing
A new location in Venlo provides extra store capacity of 20.000 m3
2016- Opening Crossdock facility
Opening crossdock facility in Kaldenkirchen.
2016 – Transfer of ownership
After years of being an operational manager, Mario op ‘t Root takes over the company from Paul Maas.
