DAF publicates their homemade magazine ‘DAF in Action’ 3 times a year. They send it to many decision makers in road transport. This magazine doesn’t only pay attention to the DAF products and services, but also to transport and logistics in a global way. It’s publicated in Dutch, French, Spanish, German, English, Italian and Polish, with a number of 120.000 copies.

In the latest edition ‘DAF in Action’ they focus on the intermodal transport concept of Wetron Transport and Logistics. In this article Directing Manager Paul Maas explains the concept of the intermodal transport and tells about the work methods at Wetron.

The first sea freight arrived at Ittervoort.

This week Wetron delivered a 40 feet sea container with parts for ventilation systems to the Interduct Group in Ittervoort. The sea container went by ship from Shanghai to Antwerpen. This freight is the first result from the trade mission ‘Hoge Dunk’, which 30 entrepreneurs from the local collaboration ‘Hoge Dunk’ in April last year put to China.

Ultra-light Mega Coil Trailers

In the past year Wetron has developed, in close collaboration with a trailer manufacturer, a lightweight loading unit which increased the total loading capacity without breaking the legal norm. Starting July Wetron will begin using the first five of these so called ultra-light trailers. The new trailers offer customers the option to load 26.5 tons (instead of the normal 25) and have a capacity of 105 m3. Dutch treat for Italian clubs

AC Milan and Inter Milan, both well known Italian soccer clubs, playing in the Champions League and sharing the San Siro stadium in Milano. The high level skills of both teams ask for high quality playground. Dutch playground?

The Dutch supplier of playgrounds has many years of experience in deliveries to soccer clubs. Last year, the Bernabeu Stadium and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff received new playgrounds as well. First week of March 2006, it’s the San Siro Stadium who receives a new playground. Due to good experiences in the past, Wetron was asked again to take care of the logistic part of the job.

On arrival of the 11 trucks, the playgrounds were loaded directly from the fields into the trailers. This ways, the new playground arrived in Milan as fresh as possible.Employees of our client took care of immediate unloading and placement of the playground in the stadium. Ready for Italian top soccer? A Dutch treat for both Italian clubs!
